Destin, FL

We just got back from Destin, FL. We had a blast! Cade was such a little trooper. My mom and dad had invited us to go with them and we didn't want to pass up the opportunity to go to the beach. I wasn't sure about Cade and the long car ride but he did quite well. I was surprised! Don't get me wrong...it was a little rough at times but we managed. It was worth it! Cade went swimming for the first time and loved it. Well, not really swimming but his daddy held him and he got to put his feet in the water. He wasn't sure what to think about it at first, but then he seemed to like it. Here are some pictures from our trip! We can't wait to go back when he's a little older and he can build sandcastles and play on the beach!

We try to take a walk everyday...however, he usually ends up falling asleep! As soon as we come back inside he wakes up. He likes the constant motion...same thing goes for when we're in the car. He can be sound asleep and then when we come to a red light he wakes up and starts crying. Go figure!

Roscoe doesn't know what to think about his new baby brother. He gets up with me for every feeding and has to be right there in the middle of it all. Too cute!

We are working on tummy time. However, he prefers to use it as a pillow and take a nap! We will keep at it.

Home Sweet Home!

We are finally home! We got to check out of the hospital yesterday (Mon). Poor little guy has been through so much this past week. He spent the majority of his time in the NICU. He had some complications after he was born and he wasn't able to go #1 on his own. This had them very concerned so they started running all sorts of tests, did a sono and an x-ray, etc. They found some protein deposits in his kidneys and they weren't sure what caused it. After much deliberation and testing, they said he was dehydrated. So, they started him on an IV and flushed him with lots and lots of fluid. Finally, he went on his own!! Everything is great now and he is a going to the bathroom like a champ. We are so excited to be home and now we get to spend lots of time with our precious baby boy! Thanks again to all of you for your continued prayers and support. We are truly blessed!

Thomas Caden was born at 6:57 this morning. He weighed 8.1 lbs and was 21 inches long!!

Almost Time!

So, it's almost time to meet our sweet little Cade. My 40 week appt went well and because of his size, my doctor recommends that we induce. He is now estimating to be around 8 lbs 13 oz. So, we will check into the hospital tonight and get started with the whole induction process. They won't start the pitocin until tom. If all goes as planned then Cade should be here on Wed, 4/22! We are so excited and can't wait!!

39 Week Apt

39 weeks and still no Cade! I haven't stopped working yet but plan on making this week my last week. Dr's appt on Monday went well except for the fact I hadn't changed at all, and I'm still only dilated 1 cm. I know I have to just take it one day at a time but that is getting harder and harder. If next Monday comes around and I’m still only dilated 1 cm, then I have to decide about being induced. They will do a sonogram regardless – to make sure he is okay (since my due date is Tues). If I go ahead with the induction, then I will check into the hospital Mon night (4/20). If I don’t induce, then I will wait until that following Monday. I will go back and have another sono. If I’m still the same then I won’t have a choice but to induce. And of course, during all this time, Cade is just going to get bigger and bigger. Lots of things to take into consideration. I can't really do anything about it until Monday...so I will just keep praying about it and take it one day at a time. Thank you all for your continued love and support!

38 Week Apt

We went to the doctor on Monday. Cade is doing great! I'm only dilated 1 cm so my doctor doesn't think he'll come this week. I go back next Mon, 4/13. Hard to believe my due date is just two weeks away. We are ready for him to get here!
